Ban Jiun Ean

Chief Executive

Ban Jiun Ean, prior to joining Maxwell Chambers Private Limited, was a Senior Assistant Director at the Ministry of Law, dealing with the development of the legal services industry. Jiun Ean read law at the National University of Singapore and spent the early part of his career at the local law firm Allen & Gledhill, before joining the Ministry in 2001. He had been involved with policy work specifically in the area of international arbitration since 2002.

In 2005, he moved to the Industry Development Division where he oversaw several arbitration related policies including attracting foreign arbitral bodies to Singapore, tax incentives for arbitration work, legal education matters and the setting up of Maxwell Chambers. In June 2009, he was appointed the Deputy Chief Executive of Maxwell Chambers. In August 2010, he was promoted to become the Chief Executive.

Katherine Yap

General Manager

Katherine Yap was promoted to become the General Manager on 1 July 2011; she oversees the Operations, Facilities, Communications & Customer Relations, Events and Sales & Marketing at Maxwell Chambers Private Limited. 

She has had 15 years of experience in marketing communications, events management and business development, of which she spent her nine years in managing club operations and delivering value and excellence towards building relationships within and outside of her organization, her work experience includes stints as Director, Marketing & Communication with Group Exklusiv- Resorts and as a Senior Public Relations and Marketing Manager with Singapore Swimming Club. Katherine was in the retail and spa industry for four years specialising in branding, marketing and business development. 
 
In addition to her Masters in Business Administration (Marketing), Katherine is a Certified Fire Safety Manager and she is actively involved in the Fire Safety Manager Association of Singapore, she was key member of the Club Managers’ Organising Committee for Asian Club Managers’ Conference in 2008.
