Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce

The International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is the voice of world business championing the global economy as a force for economic growth, job creation and prosperity.

International Centre for Dispute Resolution Singapore

The International Centre for Dispute Resolution® (ICDR), the international division of the American Arbitration Association®, was established in 1996 to provide the same high-quality alternative dispute resolution services available in the U.S. to individuals and organizations around the globe.

The ICDR and the SIAC formed a joint venture in 2006 to launch ICDR's Singapore office.

International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes

ICSID is one of the five intergovernmental organizations that make up the World Bank Group. It was established in 1966 by the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States (the Convention). To date, 144 countries are ICSID members.

ICSID aims to foster increased flows of international investment by providing a neutral international forum for the resolution of disputes between governments and foreign investors. Under the Convention, ICSID administers procedures for the settlement of such disputes by conciliation and arbitration, in cases where both the host and the home country of the investor are ICSID members. Pursuant to Additional Facility Rules adopted in 1978, ICSID also administers certain types of proceedings between governments and foreign nationals that fall outside the scope of the Convention. Another dispute settlement activity of ICSID has consisted in the Centre undertaking to appoint arbitrators and/or administer proceedings conducted under the Arbitration Rules of the U.N. Commission on International Trade Law.

In addition to its dispute settlement activities, ICSID has a publications program in the area of foreign investment law.

Permanent Court of Arbitration

The Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) is an inter-governmental organization with over one hundred member states.

Established in 1899 to facilitate arbitration and provide a variety of dispute resolution services to the international community.

London Court of Commercial Arbitration

The LCIA is the longest-established of the world’s leading international institutions for commercial dispute resolution. Its organisation, operation, outlook, and services are worldwide, in arbitration, mediation and other forms of ADR.

World Intellectual Property Organization Arbitration & Mediation Center

Established by the Geneva-based World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center offers alternative dispute resolution (ADR) options for the resolution of international commercial disputes between private parties. The arbitration, mediation and expert determination procedures offered by the WIPO Center are widely recognized as particularly appropriate for technology, entertainment and other disputes involving intellectual property.

The WIPO Center, which is also the global leader in Internet domain name dispute resolution, has a strong commitment to the time and cost effectiveness of its ADR services.

Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration

The Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) has been reconstituted as a company limited by guarantee and separate from the SIAC as of May 2009.

The aim of the SCMA is to provide a framework for maritime arbitration which is responsive to the needs of the maritime community. Any party can arbitrate a maritime dispute under the SCMA Rules without a management charge. Like a club, any person or company within the maritime community in or outside Singapore can join the SCMA as a member.

The Chairman of the SCMA is Mr Goh Joon Seng. The Executive Director of the SCMA is Mr Lee Wai Pong.

Chartered Institute of Arbitrators

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) is a not-for-profit, UK registered charity that exists for the global promotion, facilitation and development of all forms of private dispute resolution to maximise the contribution that dispute resolution practitioners make. It has a global membership of around 12,000 individuals who have professional training in private dispute resolution.

In addition to providing education and training for arbitrators, mediators and adjudicators, the CIArb acts as an international centre for practitioners, policy makers, academics and those in business concerned with the cost-effective and early settlement of disputes.

The CIArb has a branch in Singapore known as Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Singapore) Limited.

The Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb) is an independent professional body established in 1981.

The main focus of SIArb is in professional training & development. SIArb also organises talks, seminars and training courses for members and the public on a regular basis.
