Singapore International Mediation Centre

The Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC) was established in March 2014 as an independent, not-for-profit company. The SIMC aims to provide best-in-class mediation services and products targeted at the needs of parties in cross-border commercial disputes, particularly those based in Asia.

Hosting an experienced panel of international mediators drawn from Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe as well as North and South America, SIMC will offer, amongst other things, professional appointing authority and case management services under the SIMC Rules. Mediation at SIMC will come with the unique benefit of enforceability as settlement agreements may be made consent awards under an Arb-Med-Arb Protocol between the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and SIMC.

Singapore Mediation Centre

Established in 1997, the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC) pioneered the use of mediation as the mainstream mechanism for dispute resolution, as well as training in negotiation and conflict management. Today, SMC offers a suite of alternative dispute resolution services which brings clarity and objectivity to complex situations. These services include mediation, neutral evaluation and domain name dispute resolution. Through our panel of professional mediators with legal and industry expertise, SMC is well-placed to manage difficult negotiations and unlock standstills for businesses by providing cost-effective and timely solutions. At SMC, our vision is to help all businesses fully appreciate the value of mediation as a strategic risk-management tool that they can count on in commercial dealings.

The Dispute Board Federation was founded to promote the use of ADR and Dispute Boards, as a means of dispute avoidance in developing countries. It has expanded over the past few years to encompass construction in general and also to advise and assist developing countries on best practices for the construction of large engineering and infrastructure projects worldwide.

The Federation provides advice and assistance in the development of infrastructure projects, trains and accredits members, produces standard forms for use in construction projects, acts as an appointing body for dispute board members, and provides training and assistance in other areas of effective dispute resolution through mediation and arbitration.
